Five Points Pride

I was part of the team that produced a series of impactful events in Jacksonville, Florida, each with diverse themes and significant community engagement. These events included:

 

LGBTQ+ Music and Makers Event

  • Hosted by Historic 5 Points and Alewife Craft Beer Bottle Shop & Tasting Room.

  • Guest List: 500 attendees.

  • Description: An evening supporting local LGBTQ+ musicians and makers. Performances and displays occurred at various businesses throughout 5 Points, featuring artists like Amethyst Prince and Folk is People, culminating in a drag show at Root Down Jax.

 

  • Pride Ride

    • Hosted by Tucker Cycles, Aardwolf Brewery, and Historic 5 Points.

    • Guest List: 200 participants.

    • Description: A family-friendly community bike ride through Historic 5 Points and Avondale, decorated in Pride-themed attire. The event concluded with an after-party featuring food, drinks, and entertainment, benefiting the 5 Points-Jax Pride Block Party.

 

  • 40th Annual Pride Block Party

    • Hosted by Aardwolf Brewery and Historic 5 Points.

    • Guest List: 1000+ attendees.

    • Description: A celebration of North Florida’s diversity with live music, food, local vendors, and a prime viewing spot for the Bank of America Pride Parade. The event included performances by DJs and bands, culminating in a burlesque show.

 

LGBTQ+ Panel Discussion

  • Hosted by Historic 5 Points.

  • Guest List: 100 attendees.

  • Description: A panel discussion on diversity and inclusion for LGBTQ+ people in North Florida featuring prominent community leaders moderated by Shavone Steele. The event included a cocktail hour, a panel discussion, a Q&A session, and a mix-and-mingle segment.
